In this virtual session in partnership with ICTM, we'll explore how conceptual understanding, visual models, and student-driven exploration build both confidence and joy in mathematics. Designed with Illinois classrooms in mind, we'll share ideas that align with the reasoning and sense-making priorities Illinois math educators are already championing. You'll see real digital tools in action and walk away with ideas you can bring straight into your classroom.

In this session, you'll:

• Identify the key elements of conceptual understanding in math instruction
• Examine instructional practices that build reasoning and sense-making
• Explore classroom examples and real student work
• See how intentional instructional moves and aligned learning tools deepen student thinking and grow lasting confidence
